To get you ready for Halloween, here’s a picture of Halloween Cat:
I did a lot of my marine biology work on a small island off the coast of Catfish City. The island has a population of cats who are fed by the workers and researchers, and one group of these cats is Halloween-appropriate, as they are black, with either orange or bright green eyes. (Maybe I’ll find a pic of a green-eyed one for next Halloween).
I made up extremely unimaginative names for most of these cats: The Halloween Cats, Lonely Cat (stayed apart from the others), Greedy Cat (took food from the others), Fluffy Cat (long hair), Alarm Cat (made a monotonous mewling noise that reminded me of a car alarm), and Chaplin (a white cat with a strip of black under his nose, who briefly had an inappropriate name before becoming Chaplin).
Even when the human residents of Catfish City were doing their best to destroy me, these cats were my friends. Thanks, kitties!
